MEGAN CUMMINGS (Director/ Teacher)
Mrs. Cummings is beginning her fourth year as the 2-day teacher at PVP. She has taught third grade in Fairfax County Public Schools for eight years, from 1998-2006. In addition, Mrs. Cummings has instructed Language Arts and Math Camps for elementary age children. She began private tutoring in 2005 and still tutors today. Mrs. Cummings has served on the Pleasant Valley Preschool Board as Secretary. Her degrees include a BA in Elementary Education (PreK-5th grade) from Virginia Tech and a MA in Education from George Mason University. Mrs. Cummings has two children, one of which is a former student of PVP.
Christina Brawley is starting her first year at PVP. Her son attend PVP and Christina served on the board both years as Advertising Chair and then Co-Vice President. She has stayed in touch throughout the years by substitute teaching at PVP and decided to make it more permanent and joined the teaching staff this year. She has her BFA in Dance from George Mason University and has taught dance for GroundShare Arts Alliance. She loves volunteering at sons’ school and enjoys being in the classroom. She is very excited to be starting this new chapter and looks forward to learning something new every day from the children, as well as sharing something new with them.
FRANCIE McGRATH (Teacher)
Francie McGrath worked with children for the past 10 years in her home-operated child care facility. She has helped raise and care for children of various ages. She enjoyed it so much that she returned to college online to receive a Bachelor’s degree in Community and Humanities with a concentration in Early Childhood Studies. Mrs. McGrath has been a part of PVP for years — two of her own children and two of her child care kids attended the school. She has also enjoyed serving on the board and substitute teaching. She especially loves the parent involvement, community support, and partnerships the teachers and parents development in this learning environment for the child.
